New Rural Housing Development at Hammond Street, Moneymore Delivers Much-Needed Homes for Local Community

Rural Housing Association is delighted to announce the completion of a new social housing development at Hammond Street, Moneymore, providing seven high-quality homes to help meet local housing need.

Representing a total investment of £1.35 million, the development reflects the Association’s continued commitment to delivering modern, energy-efficient homes that support the sustainability and growth of rural communities across Northern Ireland.

The scheme was delivered with funding support from the Department for Communities (DfC) and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE), alongside private finance secured by Rural Housing Association through Danske Bank. The development was successfully brought forward by Bell Contracts Ltd through a Design & Build competitive tender process.

The new homes have been thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of local individuals and families, offering comfortable, high-quality accommodation within the heart of the rural village.

Stephen Fisher, Chief Executive of Rural Housing Association, welcomed the completion of the scheme.

“This new housing development in Moneymore is a significant step in helping to address the demand for quality social housing within rural communities. Access to affordable, well-designed homes remains a key challenge for many individuals and families, and developments such as this play an important role in ensuring people can remain within the communities they call home.

We are grateful for the support of the Department for Communities, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Danske Bank and Bell Contracts Ltd in helping us deliver these much-needed homes. This investment will make a real difference to residents and contribute positively to the long-term sustainability and vitality of Moneymore.”

The Hammond Street development forms part of Rural Housing Association’s wider programme of investment in rural housing, creating homes that not only meet current needs but also support the future prosperity of local communities throughout Northern Ireland.
