Rural welcomes new tenants to Brook Court, Ahoghill

Rural Housing Association has welcomed tenants to the first phase of our Brook Court scheme in Ahoghill, County Down.  This scheme will see the addition of 26 new homes to the village over the coming months.  This scheme which is currently under construction was brought forward as part of a Design and Build competitive tender, with M J McBride being appointed as the contractor for the scheme.  This new-build scheme, which has been designed by architects Studio Rogers, is partly funded through the Department for Communities (HAG) and Danske Bank.  The second phase of the project is scheduled for completion, later this year.

As part of M J McBride and Rural Housing Association’s ongoing community engagement work in the local area, a school competition to name the new scheme was hosted by Fourtowns Primary School.  The winner of the competition was announced at a special assembly, with the winning pupil named as Jay Cameron, who chose the name Brook Court.

Stephen Fisher, Chief Executive of Rural Housing Association, said “We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new tenants to the first phase of Brook Court, we are delighted to see the near completion of this scheme.  New social housing in rural areas is an important part of ensuring these communities are strong and vibrant, as well as playing a key role in addressing housing waiting lists.  We look forward to welcoming more tenants to Brook Court in the coming months.”
